Freddie On the Way Out

Morning all. I'd like to proudly announce that we now have moved to ArseNole.com! I have a test today which is bollocks. Can't wait till the season starts. But anyways, here goes for the day.

Contrary to what had been previously said by Arsene Wenger, his agent, and himself, Freddie Ljungberg is on the way to West Ham. The deal is said to be worth up to 3 million pounds subject to conditions in the deal. Freddie had said just a week ago that he wouldn't go to any Premiership side, but I suppose he changed his mind. He had this to say about the move:

"I'm coming here because I want to build a great team," said Ljungberg. "And why I want to join is because of Magnusson. He wants to bring them forward to be top of the country.

"He's willing to go to the transfer market to buy top players and mix them with youth players. West Ham have a great academy.

"He wants to help take the club up and take them to the top in England. It's a big challenge for me."

Then in a cunty move for a loyal ex-gunner, he goes on to trash Arsenal's ambition, saying several things didn't match his ambition. Freddie's ambition for the last few years has been staying hurt as much as possible and missing the net. But this is what he said:

"Two years ago when I signed my last contract we talked a lot about the future and about bringing great players to the club," said Ljungberg. "Despite building the new stadium we wanted to stay top in England and do well in Europe.

"For me that didn't really happen.

"I stayed because I wanted to stay loyal to Arsenal. But when Henry left this summer it felt like the end for me unfortunately.

Well Freddie, West Ham are clearly a worse side than Arsenal, so let's see if they match your ambitions next year. When your best player is leaving for Man United it's hard to win a lot of matches. I hope they get relegated.

Freddie has been here a long time but it was time for him to move on. He could have done it without saying all that bollocks though. 3 million is also a far cry from the 6 million that was being talked about from Fiorentina. Oh well, hopefully we use the money to get a new winger.

That's pretty much about all I have today because I have to finish studying. Good day all. Leave a comment about Freddie if you want.

Cheers

Can't say I'm sad to see Freddie go from a "play on the field standpoint"...I know he wasn't healthy last year but he seemed a step slow and was on the ground constantly...plus I found it telling that he's a senior player and NO ONE mentioned him as a captain. 2 questions for me:

1) Does this make it more likely that Flamini stays at Arsenal now?

and 2) With Arsenal competing in the Champions League, don't they need to add at least one more class midfielder? Or do they think Mark Randall and...gulp the awful Alex Song can get the job done...or does Eboue play more midfield?

I think Flamini is going to stay now. He's not a winger and I still think that Diaby, Denilson, and of course Fabregas are better players, but I don't think many teams were interested and that he'll stay.

I definitely think we need to bring in a winger to help, and hopefully with this money and the Reyes money and the rest of the money we have we can bring in a quality player to help out, because we all know we need a wide player. Randall was okay in the preseason but he's not the answer for us at this point. We need to bring in someone quality before the season starts.

i am sad to see freddie go after what hes contributed to the team, hes been a great player these last 9 years and its a shame he doesn't get his testemonial.
altho he hasn't been at his best for a while this probably is the best time to let him go, this will also give walcott a few more oppertunities next season.
i think we should go for mortan gamst pederson, im not sure if hes a complete winger but he can play there, and hes a really good player who can score goals.

I guess the real truth comes out when you decided to leave.
Hard to see Freddie go but he needed to get out of here. He hasn't been that great of a player these past few years. Injuries have plagued him. I say go to West Ham and waste their money when hes just sitting on the bench. Oh well.

I really don`t think we need another winger. We have plenty of players at this position: Rosicky, Hleb, Walcott, Eboue, Van Persie ... and Reyes if he doesn`t quit. We can also play Fabregas, Flamini and Clichy in this position if its needed.
So for me, i think that we have enough.

I think Wenger has done his work in the transfer market, and that his next signing will be his "second hand"!

For those that have seen him play...is Stephen Appiah a central midfielder or a wing?
