Arsene Wenger Has F***ing Lost It

Ok that is just about enough Arsene. I'm one of your biggest supporters and have stuck by you through the summer and every summer before when you have sold and let players leave without sufficiently replacing them, but this is the final straw. Letting Phillippe Senderos go to Milan on loan for the season is absolutely ridiculous. The Kolo-Gallas partnership DOES NOT WORK! And what have we been saying we need next to one of them (Kolo is by far the better choice), a big, strong defender who can handle long balls and headers! That's what Senderos does!

Signing Mikael Silvestre is supposed to be defensive cover, but that doesn't mean you let all the other defenders leave on loan! I wonder what Arsene is thinking...

"Hmmmm...you know our squad does seem a little thin, and our defense is shite, so we might as well let Djourou and Senderos go out on loan."

You've lost your mind Arsene. Big Phil gets a bad rap from a lot of Arsenal fans but he's a competent defender that certainly wouldn't be any worse than the awful William Gallas is doing right now. No, he isn't the fastest player on the pitch and he isn't that assured on the ball, but he can play the high balls and he's the only one strong enough to handle strikers like Drogba, etc. Kolo Toure is there to partner him and provide the speed for cover that Senderos doesn't have. That's why it is called a partnership, and the one we are using now doesn't work. It just doesn't. You can say they are both world class defenders, and some of the insane ones will even say that Gallas is better than Kolo (which he isn't), but they aren't a good pairing. So the candidate that would be the best replacement for Gallas in our squad is now being sent away for the year. Is that going to help his confidence? Certainly not. How much will he even get to play at Milan? I can't see how this benefits Arsenal or Senderos at all.

I'm freaking pissed off. I can deal with having to wait until the deadline to sign a midfielder but this is the last straw for me. Something needs to change. Arsene isn't running this club like he used to when we won things. Give me Tony Adams. This is shite.

Exactly my feelings Phil.

To clarify this post since nobody seems to understand it...I am not saying Arsenal will never win again. I am not saying that I will not support them because even if Arsenal was relegated to the Conference I'd still support them. I'm also not discrediting anything that Arsene Wenger has done for this club. The point of the article is that our defense has been consistently bad and now we are loaning out one of our best four defenders. It isn't a smart move.

I totally agree with the opening comments as arsene has lost the plot. He is balancing his book because he has to pay the wages for the Manu centre back. We are now much lighter at the back as I would not have send Senderos on loan. He is young but experienced and i rate him as a valuable squad player. At the rate he is going we wont have any players left. If you dont spend or replace the players we are not going to challenge any thing

You are a f****** wanker. Keep your crap articles to yourself. Nobody gives a f*** about your stupid opinions. Wenger has reasons for every decision he makes. Go and support Chelsea or Tottenham if that makes you feel better ;)

As I remember, Senderos has had lots of problems dealing with Drogba in the last few years, but nonetheless I agree letting him go to Milan is a strange decision.

Sendy would have screwed up royally at some point so I'm not all that sad to see him go, but I do get your point, Wenger is making some curious decisions.

All summer I had a fear in the back of my mind that the lack of signings was an indication of stubborness and now I think that is the case. It's possible that Wenger is so determined to not be Chelsea or Utd that he is willing to rely on ever younger players to an insane and reckless degree.

I'm starting to think that this season is going to be what everyone predicted last season to be. Last season we got lucky. Flamini stepped into a gap and performed adequately while Cesc matured in his role and started scoring goals. Then in the middle of the season Adebayor arrived on the scene as a top scorer.

But instead of seeing that as good fortune, Wenger seems to see it as a complete validation of his youth policy. Like he could put a team of 10 year olds out there and as long as they had his stamp of approval they could contend for the title.

I think we will still be Top 4, but it will be a distant 4th with little actual contention for the title and probably bad performances against the other top clubs. Maybe we can wrangle a Cup victory to at least get the trophy monkey off our backs.

Mike said...

one problem i just considered is that Cesc is supposedly good friends with Senderos. So maybe we risk unsettling the one player we're all satisfied with. Sheesh...

DEXXXTREME said...

how do we know this deal isnt to free up wages for a centre half who wont lose us so many games from mistakes? surely a loan deal to milan can only help a player with all the experienced players to learn from

Gooner_14 said...

I don't agree with you at all. However you are completly entilted to your opinion and no one should insult you for expressing your opinion.

However Djouro has looked very good in the centre of defence, Silvestre can play there as can Song as well as the obvious two. As Senderos going to Milan i personally think it is a good move as in that league he will improve his defending as the Italian game is based on defending. Also he will be able to devolop his game away from the English press who seem to jump on his back on every occasion. I firmly believe he will come back a better defender.

As for Cesc becomming unsettled, it is only a loan for a year and the only thing which would unsettle him is if Wenger left which is what most of you are calling for.

If Wenger leaves, Cesc, Persie, Adeybayor, Toure, Clichy and Sagna will all be right behind him.

what the hell is the "dippy" character saying?!
""Our squad is shit appart from a few players..."" - first of all learn how to spell apart! Secondly Cesc, Gael, Nasri, Ade, Van Persie, Sagna, Gallas, Walcott---is that just a few players???!!! Learn the English Language, watch some soccer and get a life.

Anonymous said...

flaming someone for spelling mistakes means you have lost the argument :)

this article is as crap as Phil is...just a shame it's only a loan IMO. I would take the aging Manure fish face over bungling big Phil.

Arsene has given us the BEST years of this club...whoa we loose 1 game to Fulham (after many of our players have been on internation duty BTW) so lets call for Wenger's head

I hope you write a BLOG apologising to Wenger and the Arsenal Fans when Wenger reveals the new defender he is giong to sign before the transfer window.

Wenger has not lost it. Song is above Senderos in the pecking order as proven last season and Djourou is a tall powerful centre back but with more pace.

He knows what he's doing. YOU don't.

Anonymous said...

hey how many league titles and fa cups have you won? oh, none is it? thats why you're not arsenal manager and wenger is. hes not an idiot. and you said that senderos can deal with the likes of drogba... everytime we play chelsea drogba takes the fuckin mick out of senderos and scores. twat.

Anonymous said...

senderos leaving for Ac if its true isnt a great lose. but i think makes the squad weaker as we know silvestre is meant to be cover for clichy as aramnd troare is on loan! so if clichy gets injured and so does toure and gallas we're left with song and djourou and who for back up? seem a little weak but hey! lol. thanks

Anonymous said...

"....he's the only one strong enough to handle strikers like Drogba, etc."

Yah right...since when was Phil strong enough to handle Drogba?

You disappoint me Arsenole. Show a little more respect to the man who turned this club from mediocrity into one of the best clubs on the planet.

One poor performance and people are calling for Arsene's head - What the f*ck?!! 3rd place and four pts away from the title last year on a shoestring budget not good enough for you? Support MAn Utd or Chelsea then. Who else in football could have pulled that out? You fakes make me laugh.

Come on the Arsenal!!

i just don't get it why wenger is irreplaceable? no one is irreplaceable in sports. when people leave, teams still have to move on. that's life. and is wenger that good? i really doubt. otherwise we would have won the premiership last season, or uefa champions league long ago. i guess it's all about luck.

Jav said...

Senderos leaving is a good move by Wenger as I don't think he is quite ready to lead our back line. He isn't that bad a player but is one that thrives on confidence and needs to play regularly to get into form. Perhaps a loan spell in a league primarily based on defensive play will further his progress and mature him.

I think Senderos and Djourou will be the future heart of our defense but just not yet. As for the pecking order issue you have to realise that the two centre backs who play must compliment each other. It is unanimously agreed and evidently easy to see that Gallas and Toure cannot play together. Regardless of how individually brilliant they are, they are too similar too each other to form an effective partnership. We need a tall, strong defender that compliments a quicker, more nimble one that 'mops up' if u like.

I would classify Senderos, Djourou and now Silvestre (seeing as he is 2 and a bit inches taller than Gallas and Toure) in the taller, stronger category and would rate Djourou and Silvestre at about the same and Senderos behind the pair of them. That leaves the other central defensive position available to either Toure, Gallas or Song and based on current form I would rate Song above Toure and would say both the aforementioned are better than Gallas. I honestly cannot see how Gallas is so highly regarded. He has done nothing but fuck things up for us since his move and our pussy of a manager will probably never bench him due to his past credentials.

I do hope that Djourou doesn't leave as he looks like full-filling the promise that he has shown and has also been playing very well recently. As good as Toure is, I don't understand why Wenger rushes him back into starting when Djourou and Gallas were working so well as a partnership. It stinks of hypocrisy because Wenger of all people is the manager who likes to give his younger players a chance, so what kind of message does this give to Djourou and the like?

Also, I don't understand Wengers reluctance to play Song in a defensive midfield positionn. Song has shown time and time again his skills in that position for his country in both the ANC and Olympics. Yet Wenger doubts his ability to play 60 a season in that position. I doubt there is a player in the premiership who has played that many games in a season let alone at our club which is full of crocks!

Also why does he continually play Eboue out of position? He was actually a very good right back before Sagna came along and beginning to show promise on the wing but not in central midfield. There were so many options available to play against Fullham but Wenger made some very bad tactical errors which cost us the game.

Actually, I don't think that we really need another Defender or Central defensive midefielder either . What we are really in need of is a better goalkeeper and creative midfielder. Don't get me wrong Alumunia is a good keeper but not a top keeper as he was also partly to blame for the Fullham goal. I mean if a goal keeper can't command his 6 yard box then he isn't good enough for us. But I don't see another goalkeeper neing bought in. Likewise, I don't see another creative midfielder being bought either. I mean who can we realistically get that is good enough cover for Fabregas and is prepared to warm the bench to wait for a chance if and when Fabregas gets injured? Exactly, besides Rosicky can always play there and he's due back soon and hopefully will stay injury free, hopefully.

So to summarise, I think we are fine player wise and I can't see us suffering the same injury woes as last year. As for missing Flamini, well the two players in cntention for that role are Diaby and Song. I think Wenger should give Song a chance there to show his stuff. My starting line-up for the up-coming FC Twente match would be:

Almunia

Sagna Toure Djourou Clichy

Song

Fabregas

Eboue Nasri

Adebayor Van Persie

With Walcott and Vela coming on for Eboue and Nasri respectively later on in the game, say 65-70 mins.

I have taken into condideration the players that are injured and the ones that are likely to be back from injury. So fellow gooners what would urs be?

ArseNole said...

Since none of you apparently read, the article is NOT calling for Wenger's head or anything like it, it's simply saying it's not a good move to loan out Senderos. Read people.

Anonymous said...

The real problem is that Wenger is too proud to accept that the promoted replacement (Denilson/Eboue) for Hleb/Flamini is not good enough... So really we have a midfield crisis and it is not resolved.

Denilson/Eboue in the midfield is a disgrace- these guys cannot pretend they were fatigued or inexperienced, they are incompetent

prepare to suffer for at least 1 season

Also Walcott is not a midfielder, he cannot hold the ball nor defend high-up the pitch.

Let me say that I'm a life long Arsenal supporter and I'm ashamed to have twats like you supporting our club.

well i think the wenger era is over. everyone knows our way of play and tactics.
how can you still play gallas? no know how of marking, no running, no spirit, not a club man etc. last season when lehmann cost us matches he was dropped, so why not gallas? because he is french? why let senderos be loaned to milan? this is madness.
i used to think that theo was not being given much starts, but now after six starts, i changed my views, for me he is not of that standard to play for arsenal. denilson too, he is a flop.
did our loved club needed silvester? of course not? sagna and clichy are miles ahead of him.
what about manu? he keep insisting to play for himself and from ten chances he takes one.
another thing? arsen keeps buying youngsters without playing them. whats the use. after a time they make a name for themselves and leaves the club, is that a good policy? to name a few, bentley, aliadiere, and others.
thank you for the space and hope to continue another time.

Hey Arsenole, AFCtrue (oleole) here. I think you were writing on the spur of the moment here, and your blunt emotions and fears have come out. I don't agree with the offensive posts - If you don't like it don't read it. Sometimes situations need someone to shout out what many of us are thinking, and that's what you are doing. I agree about Senderos, at the moment, it would only make sense if there is another defensive signing, which would have to be as well as the DM, which isn't going to happen. Frankly, we are going to have the hardest season for years because the quality and experience is not there, and the reason you and I are worried is because we saw it coming, and nothing was done. If people watched the Fulham game and managed to put it as a "one-off", they are idiots. It was a flashing red light! Last warning right there, we have 5 days (transfer deadline) to save the season!

p.s. don't worry about the comments, any 8 y.o. with a pc can comment, and your blog comes up in google's RSS feed, so you're going to get exposure to the twats.

My views after West Brom still stand after the game against Fulham. It seems the problem doesn¿t lie in defence, but we can¿t seem to create a cutting edge chance without Senor Cesc. Nasri gave me the impression that we could create chances but not so on Saturday. Van Persie¿s free kicks were abysmal. It¿s become apparent that the true problem is that without Cesc we have no ¿Tick or Tock¿ when pressing forward. But remember it is early days and nothing can be taken for granted. As I said before the defending of the team as a whole has become more mature and ¿mischievious¿ - well I hope so otherwise a certain Bacary Sagna would be wrong. Another thing that has grabbed me buy surprise and I may upset many Gooners by saying this is that maybe it time to drop Kolo Toure (I know, I know) as with Djourou and Gallas at the back things looked more ¿cohesive¿. Toure and Gallas are too similar in comparison whereas Djourou can take care of aerial balls. The only other reason I believe Toure should be dropped is because Gallas is captain, so we obviously can¿t drop him unless Wenger loses the plot. It is not all doom and gloom however, as even though we don¿t have conventional wingers, at least our full backs can put in a fantastic cross (well done Sagna, shame about Adebayor... a wage increase for two poor games on the bounce). I still feel Van Persie needs games under his belt to fully revive the (I love this adjective) ¿VanTasticness¿ and even though we have just dropped three points there are many more in the league to come. With our little maestro or maestros (if you include Ro-Sick-Note), we will have the creativeness back with our new directness in Nasri (who is a little gem) and new found experience with Man United¿s very own Mikael Silvestre. With a little bit of luck and a lot of belief we can do it. In Wenger we trust.

i agree that arsene has lost the plot but not for the same reasons. Sendross is too slow mentally and physically to be successful in the EPL. The area were wenger is losing the plot is team selection. I am completely at a lose to understand the denilson and eboue pairing in midfield for the fulham game. Why not start with toure and denilson or samir. If djourou is not good enough to pair with gallas against fulham in defence then we have a serious problem. I think we will be much better when the players are fit. Cesc will obviously improve the midfield. i would not risk him on twente unless he is 100% fit. Song and a healthy diaby have the ability to make us forget flamini but without cesc and rosicky we will struggle this season.

Yeah lets get bruce rioch back and finish mid-table playing crap football. Everyone here knows so much more about football management, tactics and player development than Arsene, thats why all of you should manage the club. Lets not show any loyalty to the man who has brought us so many magical moments and fantastic players and one of the finest stadiums in the world and got a team of apparently "shit" players to finish a few points behind the champions of europe.

Hey Arsenole,

I normally see some shards of truth in your controversial posts, and can see where you are coming from whether I agree or not. However dont agree here.

senderos, is going to get essential experience, and at an italian club, giants of the defensive world. He is sending him to come back stronger. We have all seen his potential, but also his F**k ups too. He will come back world class - guarantee it.

Also, lets not all slate him for no signings till the transfer window shuts.. Could be something yet...

Hi, I can understand why everyone looks to support the manager - however Wenger no longer treats arsenal as a big club. Can you imagine Man U selling us one of their GOOD players? or Arsenal selling a good player to Man u.

Silvertre is not a good player. In my opinion we have simply traded one shady defender for another. Our defence is OK. The centerbacks are the weak link, Sagna and Clichy are excellent. The midfield is also OK. Walcott and Eboue are shameful - walcott will improve, eboue will not. Upfront - Adebayo is OK - however a player of such limited technical abililty would have struggled to fit into earlier wenger teams for very good reason. Yes he scored goals, however so would most players who have had the fortune of playing with fabregas.

Wenger - please buy at least a tall center midfielder - or get Dierra back. We have a great opportunity to get into the champions league again - if we dont spend then we will become a midtable club

Arsene Wenger i think i might be desparing! You sell the moody goal shy Hleb and replace him with the talented Nasri good. You sell flamini and Gilberto and bring in a 17 year old welsh talent(uhu) you ship out Traore and bring in Lightbulb head (silvestre) now you ship out Senderos to be replaced.......i doubt it.

Welcome to the world of a championship squad "a selling club" woop woop my life is complete.I doubt he will sign someone before the transfer window shuts so boys it looks like consolodation of 4th spot.

I am so livid with Mr Wenger he has got it right for so long but doesnt seem to see the league has changed and the time of spending little has gone.Arsenal Football club needs silverware and unless he signs at least one internation experienced midfeilder tata!!!!

would have been good to still have bently to play on the right, upson to provide defensive cover and sidwell to add some bite in midfield.

Oh no, MR wenger says they're not good enough, thats why since he released them they've done nothing with their careers except maybe chelsea, england etc.

And any idiot can see that eboue in centre midfield is a better option that gilberto!!

sort it out arsene, stop trying to create players and change them, just get some decent ones and play them

oh please!!!!!! jesus you wanted senderos to stay!!! ffs gallas and toure were one of the most fear defencive partnerships last season why the fuck would he change it, only a little blip and now you are acting like you could predict that it would go wrong jeez. Arsene has not lost it its just last minute winners and shit ref decisions and plain bad luck that we are not challenging for the title (404 spurs and 2-2 aston villa to name a couple. we would only be 6 points behind if they had gone our way
