Hello everybody. How's your Friday going? First home match of the year is tomorrow, and we're playing Portsmouth, who are shite. In face, they're probably going to get relegated. I've put some money on Arsenal to win -2 goals, so we pretty much need to win by three for me to get paid. I'd very much appreciate it if you could pull that off Arsenal.
Theo Walcott, Rosicky, Djourou, and Nasri are all out with injuries, and Carlos Vela is apparently sick at home with Spattergroit. I really have no idea what has happened to Vela, but I wish he'd get a chance to play sometime, yet there's been no sign of him. Eduardo is passed fit for tomorrow's match though and he could maybe make a start.
We need a win, simple enough. For one, I can't handle seeing Sp*rs at the top of the table, and for two, we need to keep ahead of Man U after their loss to Burnley. We play them next weekend too so this match is really important to take all three points from. I don't think that sentence even made sense but you know what I'm getting at.
There's really not a whole lot more to say about the match. Let's just get three points and get it done and get out of there. That's like the shortest preview I've ever done but I really can't think of a lot to say about it. I'd expect to see most of the same team we've had for the other two matches to play, but maybe we'll give Song or Denilson a rest along with RvP. Diaby could start or Ramsey could start, but we'll see.
Now on to more important topics.
I've figured out how to be related to Cesc Fabregas. It's going to be tricky, and take a lot of work since she lives in Barcelona, but I've got the right attitude and resolve to see that I complete this goal of mine. You see, I've decided I'm going to marry Cesc's sister, Carlota. How am I going to pull this off you ask? Well. That's the tricky part. I suppose I'll just move to Barcelona and woo her with my delightful American charm. I haven't really thought it through much more than that, but that's the plan anyway. I can cook pretty well too, seeing as how I do attend culinary school. Now I just have to learn to speak Catalan. I believe with hard work and perserverance and a lot of luck, I'll soon be related to the Arsenal captain. Love it.
Wish me luck.
C'mon you Gunners.
Cheers.

FA Cup Semi-Final Day! C'mon You Gunners!
Morning everyone, and what a great morning it is! I'm currently rocking my home kit, my Arsenal scarf, shorts, socks, and hat for good luck. Also, I did my part last night by sleeping with my Arsenal flags and all the rest of my Arsenal kits, so if we don't play well it is certainly not for lack of effort on my part. This is one of the most exciting days I can remember for Arsenal in some time! Even with our defensive injuries, I feel like the team is playing so well that we have a chance in every single match we play right now. The match is in just about one hour and I've been listening to Good Old Arsenal and Kings of London all morning on repeat. This is what football fans live for, right here. While it's the most important match of our season so far, we most certainly hope that we win this one and have an even MORE important match in the Final a few weeks from now. That's be beauty of it all, winning just to get the chance to win more.
Injury news sees some good news and some bad news. The bad news are the obvious omissions from the squad in Clichy, Gallas, Sagna, Djourou, and Manuel Almunia are all out. That means Lukasz Fabianski (who turns 24 today!) will remain in at goal, while Kolo and Silvestre will probably keep their places in the center of defence, with Eboue at right back. Kieran Gibbs has an 80 percent chance of being fit, so hopefully he'll be able to play, but if he cannot go then Alex Song will drop into a center back role and Silvestre will move out to left back. Not exactly your ideal defensive lineup but like I said yesterday, a little bit of fight and determination can sometimes make up for a perceieved lack of ability.
On a side note, you know what else is great about this year? Those bastards from Liverpool are out of the FA Cup and the Champions League, and I love it. I hate their fans, I hate their team, and I certainly hate that girl playing striker for them and the thug playing in the midfield. So let's all laugh at Liverpool.
So the lineup should look like this:
Eboue-Toure-Silvestre-Gibbs
Song
Walcott-Fabregas-Arshavin
Rvp-Adebayor
I don't really have much else to say besides I am so ready for this match! I hope you all are as ready as I am, and for the Gooners making the trip to Wembley, do us all proud! Sing loud, sing proud! Come on you mighty f'ing Gunners! Stick it to the scum!

What A Month Ahead For Arsenal
Morning all. Post number 301 has been hard to get written. It's been a while, but I can explain. Last Sunday was Easter, so I had Church and then was with the family all day. Monday-Thursday I have class 8-5, and then each night I've had to work the baseball game from 6-10, so that doesn't leave a lot of time for posting! I know you don't really care but I felt the need to explain all of that. So it's on to Arsenal.
Tomorrow is a huge day in our season! We have the FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley! We haven't won the cup since 2005 against United and so this is a whole new experience for most of the team. Personally I see this as the best chance for Arsenal to win a trophy this season, because we get Arshavin for it and I think Chelsea and United will both want the Champions League more. Of course I would rather us win the Champions League as well, but I just personally think this is our best chance. We've shown that we can beat United as well as Chelsea this year.
Injury news before the match is not especially good defensively. Kieran Gibbs, who has been shaky but decent for his age in the current situation, is a doubt because of a groin injury he suffered against Villareal. Clichy, Djourou, and Gallas are all out still as well. It doesn't leave us many options but I would say the best plan would be like this:
Chelsea have been giving up goals left and right in the past week, allowing three at home to Bolton and four at home to Liverpool. The way we have been scoring lately, it makes me think we have a really good chance. They are certainly nothing like the team from a few years ago who nobody could ever score on. This team has cracks in it that we can exploit with players like Theo, Arshy, and Adebayor. Eduardo could also return to the bench, and he's certainly capable of scoring goals.
I'm really just hoping for a good match. I want us to win so badly but really I'm excited just to be back in the position where we can say we're in two semi-finals. It's what makes the rest of the season worth watching, being here at the end. The next month is going to be brutal. We've got Chelsea, United, and Liverpool in the league, along with Chelsea tomorrow, and United in the Champions League. Plus, if we beat Chelsea, we could get United in the final, so we'd be playing them four times this month! So it's going to be absolutely ridiculous the amount of good, important matches we have this month, so I hope you all are as ready for it as I am! Pray that we get healthier instead of getting more injuries, and I think we'll be able to pull through with flying colors! Remember, we have not lost to any of these teams so far this year!
That's about all I've got for today. I'm so excited for tomorrow. And there may be something new and big for this site coming in the next few days, so that is exciting too. Come on you Gunners!

Injuries, Wigan Preview, and 300th Post
Wow, this is my 300th post today. For those of you who have been reading since the very beginning almost two full years ago, thanks for sticking around. For those of you who are newer to the site, I hope you'll be here for years to come.
I haven't updated since after the Villareal game, but I'm sure you've read a match report for it somewhere else and if you haven't then you are out of luck because I don't think I'm going to do one. Adebayor's goal was something else though wasn't it? I've watched it over and over again. A real thing of beauty.
We head into the home leg of the tie next week 1-1 with an away goal, which is key. You'd fancy us to be able to win against them at home if we are on our game. In the first half in Spain we looked pretty woeful and Villareal looked like Barcelona, but in the second half we dominated. If we can play like we did in that second half then I think we should be able to win. Even if it ends 0-0 though we are through so let's hope we can shut up shop and keep them from scoring.
The match did cause us some problems though, in the form of injuries. William Gallas will miss the rest of the season, which is a big blow. He's been playing quite well since he had the captaincy taken off of him and his experience and skill will be sorely missed. I think Djourou is a very capable replacement but with Kolo and Gallas having been working so well together lately, it is a blow to lose half of that partnership. Gael Clichy was also injured in the match, and he will miss two weeks, while Manuel Almunia will miss three weeks with an ankle problem. So Lukasz Fabianski will be stepping in between the posts, and every time I watch him he looks better and better, so I'm pretty comfortable with him back there. Who plays at left back is the real question...Gibbs or Silvestre? Personally I'd rather see Gibbs out there. Silvestre hasn't done anything impressive since his arrival and I can't see him coming off a long injury lay-off and magically playing well. Gibbs is faster and probably a more capable player, just lacking experience. If I'm picking the team though, which of course I'm not, I'd pick Gibbs.
So we have Wigan tomorrow in the league, at the shite pitch that is the JJB. I remember playing last year and the ball was bouncing all over the place because of all the weird bumps in the pitch and it really messes up our passing game. Wigan have been pretty good this year under Steve Bruce and I've actually been kind of rooting for them to do well this year, just not against us of course. They got thrashed 4-0 by Everton last week so they should be motivated for this one, and it won't be an easy one to win. We'll have Eduardo and van Persie facing fitness tests before the match, so if they aren't fit I guess we'll see Bendtner come into the side.
If I had to guess the lineup will look something like this:
Sagna-Djourou-Toure-Gibbs
Walcott-Denilson-Cesc-Arshavin
Bendtner-Adebayor
Also, on a side note, I'm really hoping Newcastle get relegated. It's just after my hopes that Sp*rs, Chelsea, ManUre, and Liverpool would get relegated that Newcastle get relegated so if you get some free time turn on the Newcastle match this weekend and watch the cunts languish about the pitch for 90 minutes on their way to the Championship.
That's about it for the day. I'll try to get something up before the match tomorrow but we'll see because I may want to sleep in as long as possible. It's been a long week. Hope you all have a good one and Come on you Gunners!

Quick Arsenal-Portsmouth Preview
Morning all. Just a quick one today as I've got a busy day ahead and honestly I'm really so tired that I can barely write. We play Portsmouth in 45 minutes and see the first return of Tony Adams as an opposing manager. Pompey have been pretty terrible since he took over, and since we're playing at home we really need this to be a win.
While you never like to see anyone injured, I can't say I'm too bothered that Alex Song will miss this game through injury, and possibly Johann Djourou as well. Clichy should be back giving us a back four of Sagna-Toure-Gallas-Clichy, which on paper looks really good but we have seen that it is clearly otherwise. Emmanuel Adebayor is back after serving his suspension for a B.S. red card against the scousers. Obviously Eduardo, Rosicky, Cesc, and Theo are all still out.
We really need to pull off a win today. We're on our best run of the season, 5 games without defeat, and Pompey have had three straight defeats. Our class needs to show through to get a result here, and we could really use a Villa loss; and while we're at it how about a United and Chelsea loss too.
Arsene Wenger has said that Tony Adams will one day become a great manager, and I hope he does. I just hope it isn't today against us.
"He [Adams] was a great leader but there is a difference (between being a captain and manager).Alright that's about all the time I have this morning. Match is in thirty minutes so everyone kick back and enjoy what we'll hope will be a convincing win. Come on you Gunners!"He will certainly be a great manager and he has the qualities needed to become one."

Arsenal - Porto Match Preview
Morning all. We've got the Champions League again tonight and I'm pretty excited about it. Not only is European competition great to watch but it gives us another chance to rebound from the defeat to Hull before we play in the league again. It's FC Port tonight, a Portuguese team known for producing great young talents such as Deco, Paulo Ferreira, Ricardo Carvalho, Maniche, Costinha, Benni McCarthy, Jose Bosingwa and Ricardo Quaresma, and won't be an easy match to say the least. However, if you follow the "10 points and you qualify" rule in the group stages, this is probably a match we need to win. At the moment Porto are 4th in the Portuguese league but they are undefeated and will definitely be looking to have a crack at the team after what happened to us on Saturday. Arsene Wenger stated how important this match was:
“In this Champions League group you know you go through with 10 points,” said Wenger.
“The calculation is quite easy. You win your three home games and you are through.
“In some groups you have two good teams and two weak teams. In this group you have four strong teams. That is why home form will be vital.”
He's right, we really do need to take all three points from this one. I'm hoping for a really good atmosphere at the Grove tonight to get all the players' spirits lifted and push them on to a good result.
Injury news is as follows: Samir Nasri is fit again, but Abou Diaby (he's been out forever hasn't he?), Eduardo, and Tomas Rosicky are all out. Alex Song has also been ruled out for this one. It will be nice to have Nasri back again because he provides creativity in the way that Cesc does but is also capable of a good long dribble or a powerful shot from distance, which is always a bonus. I think we've missed him in the side and while Theo has of course done well for us, he does need a rest sometimes too.
Speaking of resting, the boss has said he will rotate players for tonight's match. He says the changes are simply for resting players and not for punishment, but I think certain players probably could use the rest along with the punishment. He wouldn't really say which changes would be made to the eleven we had against Hull but I'd like to see Gallas get a rest, along with one of the strikers and maybe Denilson. The problem is who do you put in their place if you do sit them down. Striker is easy because we have Bendtner and Vela on the bench who are both of immense quality. Midfield could maybe be Aaron Ramsey, but we don't have many other options there. In defense we have Djourou and Silvestre, and I'd love to see how a Djourou/Toure partnership would do, but I doubt we'll see it. The boss really seems to hate "resting" Bill Gallas.
So even with the rotation I'll try to go out on a limb and pick the lineup here:
Sagna-Toure-Djourou-Clichy
Eboue-Ramsey-Cesc-Nasri
Adebayor-Vela
This is Porto's 11th trip to England in their history. They have never won. We need that to continue. While they have lost maybe their best player, Ricardo Quaresma, to Inter Milan over the summer, they still have lots of quality, notably Lucho Gonzalez. It's going to be a tough match for sure, but one that we have the quality to win and need to show it.
My match prediction: 2-0 to the Arsenal. I think we'll have enough quality and the defense seems to do better with Djourou in there, so I think we'll be able to keep a clean sheet. Scorers are Adebayor and Nasri.
I'm excited for this one so let's go out and get three points! Cheers all!

Early Bolton Preview, and Kroenke Joins The Board
Morning all. The match preview is a day early this time because I'm headed to Tallahassee tomorrow to watch Florida State beat Wake Forest. I'll be back Sunday and will hopefully get a match preview up then.
So we've got Bolton at the Reebok Stadium tomorrow. This used to be really a tricky fixture for us, although since Fat Sam left for Newcastle they haven't been the same. Last year was that incredible game where we were getting murdered in the first half, then had Abou Diaby sent off, so we were 2-0 down, away from home, and playing with 10 men. In the 2nd half however we made the greatest comeback I remember seeing from Arsenal, with Gallas, RvP, and an own goal somehow giving us the win 3-2.
Injury news ahead of the match isn't too bad as we haven't lost anyone that was healthy for the Kiev match. We still have Nasri, Diaby, and Silvestre out though. Nasri is one that I'm worried about. I think the injury he picked up was supposed to just be a little one but it's putting him out for a lot longer than expected. I really hope it isn't like a Rosicky or RvP injury that never really goes away and we end up having to give him a bionic leg.
The lineup will probably look like this:
Sagna-Toure-Gallas-Clichy
Eboue-Denilson-Cesc-Walcott
RvP-Adebayor
Like I said, Bolton haven't been the same since Fat Sam left, and it's a match we could really use three points from. Bolton are pretty much shite, and we are of course, not shite. Cesc was in and out of the game a little bit against Kiev so let's hope he gets back on track this match and hopefully the ref won't give any terrible penalty calls like the one he called against Sagna. That said, I think my score prediction will be 1-3 to the Arsenal. I think we just have too much quality for Bolton to match up with man for man. They will put everybody in front of the goal and try to make a wall but I think we'll be able to break them down. I really hope I'm right.
So that's enough for the match preview. There is a SLIM possibility that I'll be able to get a podcast done before I leave for Tally tomorrow but I have to pack and have practice today, then I have to coach my team in the morning and leave right after that. But there is a slim chance still because I haven't gotten one done in a while.
The other big news of the day is that Stan Kroenke, that's right, an American, has joined the Arsenal board. I think it's great because not only am I American of course but Mr. Kroenke has had a very successful career running sports franchises here in the states for those of you who don't know much about him. Kroenke has agreed not to increase his stake beyond 29.9% of Arsenal's share capital in the next year unless a takeover bid is launched by the fat Russian cunt, in which case he could buy more of the club with the consent of the rest of the board. So basically this is all to prevent Usmanov from trying to get into a bidding war for the club because guess what, the shareholders will sell to Kroenke before they would to Usmanov, and the board clearly feel that they can trust Kroenke.
A statement from the club read:
"Mr Kroenke fully supports the approach the board has taken in setting the direction of the club," the statement read.So we'll see how it works out but I think it is a great move for the club."The board believes Mr Kroenke's experience in sports team commercial management, sports marketing, media and new media rights as well as real estate development will be of great value."
Again, please visit our new sponsors at SoccerPro.com for everything you need football related. They have the new Arsenal kits at good prices and everything else you could want.
So that's about it. Hoping for 3 points tomorrow, and a big win for FSU. Go Noles. Cheers all.

Dynamo Kiev Preview
Morning all. It's a fine day for football. My Under 8's are 2-0 to start the season with a +14 goal difference so far, so that's going well. And on top of that, since the disaster at Fulham, Arsenal have looked good too. We need that to continue tonight in Ukraine against Dynamo Kiev.
Injury news for Arsenal is as follows: Mikael Silvestre is out, along with Samir Nasri. Clichy and Eboue were both questionable but they both are in the 18 man squad. Silvestre hasn't been healthy since he signed for us. As for Eboue, I just wish he'd stop diving. Yes, it got us a penalty, but it's over the top, melodramatic, and just plain cheating.
Kiev are a good side and it's always tough to go to Eastern Europe and play. I've honestly never been to Eastern Europe so in my mind I picture it as very dark and cold year round. In fact Arsenal.com had this line on there: "The Ukrainian capital was grey and dreary..." That probably isn't the case all the time but it's still a tough environment to go into and get a win. That said I think we should be looking to take maximum points from this game. We are a far superior side now and our quality needs to win out. Walcott should be given another chance to shine in place of Samir Nasri and I think if he uses his pace well like he has been it could be another banner day for him. Kiev aren't as good as they once were with players like Shevchenko (below) and it's a match we need to win.
Arsene Wenger had this to say about the environment there:
The lineup should go something like this:“Football in this region can be a little bit destabilising,” he said. “If you do not prepare well mentally you can be surprised by the level of commitment here and in Russia."We have had some bad experiences in this part of Europe before. When we lacked experience we were surprised by the commitment and enthusiasm we got from a side like Kyiv."But I believe we have learnt that any place in the world is difficult and I believe mentally we can cope with that better now."
Sagna-Toure-Gallas-Clichy
Eboue-Denilson-Cesc-Walcott
RvP-Adebayor
What I'd like to see continuing is the runs by Walcott, using his pace and energy effectively from the start. If he wants to make the jump from good substitute to quality starter, then he's going to have to produce like he did against Blackburn week in and week out. I also want to see more out of Adebayor and RvP. They both had good games (Ade was fantastic) against Blackburn and their partnership is only going to get stronger playing together a lot of times in a row. Denilson I think should occupy a more holding role with Cesc in there next to him, but I do like how he gets forward and isn't afraid to take a long shot if the chance arises. Defence has looked a little shaky but let's hope they use this opportunity outside of league play to correct some of those mistakes.
My prediction: 2-0 to the Arsenal.
So that's that. Hopefully we'll get off on the right foot in this Champions League group. One last thing for the day is I'd like to mention that we are now in association with SoccerPro.com. They are the leading provider for all your football needs, including football boots, equipment, Arsenal kits (as well as other teams) , balls, and everything else you could possibly ever need to play, watch, referree, or anything else to do with the sport. Arsenal-West Brom Preview, New Signing?
Well here it is, the start of another season, finally. It seems like it's been ages since the last one, but probably just because everyone's been bitching and moaning all summer about how Wenger can't manage a team. Even with the Euros this summer seemed ridiculously long. But tomorrow that's all over because the Premiership starts, and we've got West Brom up first. Newly promoted West Brom I might add...at home...where we've only ever lost once...should be three points right? Well you would think so but it's not a given by any means. You could tell from the match against FC Twente that we weren't at top Arsenal form but that will come with games and the same team being able to go out there.
The injury list for the game sees Senderos, Fabregas, and Diaby missing the match tomorrow as well as the long-term injuries Rosicky, Eduardo, and Bischoff. Alex Song is at the Olympics so he won't be making it either. Arsene Wenger says Kolo Toure is not 100% but he will be rushed back for this match. Let's just hope it doesn't lead to a long term injury. Samir Nasri could also make his Arsenal debut so that would be fun to see.
So the lineup will pretty much set itself:
Sagna-Toure-Gallas-Clichy
Eboue-Denilson-Ramsey-Walcott
RvP-Adebayor
Yeah I know that's the exact same lineup as we had against Twente except for Toure but I think that's what he'll go with. If Nasri is even a little bit injured I don't think Arsene would start him. It could be Djourou in place of Toure depending on how bad he is feeling tomorrow but if he was hurting badly Arsene wouldn't play him.
West Brom are an interesting prospect. They have a good manager in Tony Mowbray but a squad which just isn't that good. Better than Derby last year? Probably yes, but not a team that should beat Arsenal at home.
I think this is a game that Denilson and Ramsey should be able to handle in midfield. If this was against Man U, Chelsea, or even a team like Villa, I might be a bit worried about them starting the season in midfield, but this is a good test for them. They didn't exactly run the game against Twente so they'll have to step up their play, but they are two that have the ability to run a midfield game with their balanced play. They both can do a lot of things for the team and I think the strikers we do have will help them a lot.
It'll be interesting to see the Kolo-Gallas partnership again. I don't think anyone, including myself, was convinced of that pair in the center of defense last year, so we'll have to see if it has gotten any better. The main problem for them last year was long balls yet again so we'll need to improve on those if we want to go anywhere in the competitions.
Theo Walcott needs much improvement over the game on Wednesday, but I won't really fault him for that because it was the first match of the season. I do worry though that he'll always be a "super-sub" player and not a starter because he definitely seems to have more of an impact coming off the bench.
Match Prediction for me is going to be 2-0 to Arsenal. I think Adebayor will score both of them and I think Almunia will have a fairly easy game. Let's hope so.
So people have been really worried about our midfield or lack-there-of and there is some good news for you straight out of the mouth of Arsene Wenger. We will have a new signing before the return leg of FC Twente. Obviously we're all expecting it to be a midfielder but how funny would it be if it wasn't even a midfielder but it was a striker or something? People would REALLY lose it then. But seriously, it'll be a midfielder.
That's about all I've got. Nastia Liukin won the women's all-around at the olympics last night, and Shawn Johnson got the silver. It was awesome. And yeah, I really did say women's gymnastics was awesome. And Michael Phelps is up to a ridiculous six gold medals. And those Chinese gymnasts were certainly not 16...

But anyways, enjoy the match tomorrow, and let's start the season with three points!

Arsenal-Derby Preview, Bring Back The Noise
Morning everyone. Should be a fun day today. The sun is shining here in Florida and we play Derby County today, which makes every day better. We beat them 5-0 at home earlier in the year and I'll be hoping for a similar result today. We may also get to see some fringe players because we have injuries and also the boss has said he wants to rest some Euro2008 players.
Team news ahead of the game sees Sagna, Flamini, Eduardo, Rosicky, and Diaby out with injuries. It's really hard to pick a team not only with the injuries but you don't know who Arsene is going to decide to rest. I think it could be Ade and Cesc though. So going by that I think the lineup will look something like this:
Toure-Gallas-Senderos-Clichy
Eboue-Gilberto-Denilson-Walcott
Rvp-Bendtner

Seriously though we should expect nothing less than a win here today. My prediction is 3-0 to the Gunners and YoungGuns agrees with me. Leave a prediction. I'm hoping RvP and Theo both score, because they both need that confidence boost that only a goal can give you.
Now on to my brilliant idea:
If you didn’t know already, the atmosphere at the Grove is a bit lacking, so a couple of us Arsenal bloggers started a "Bring Back the Noise" campaign to start getting it louder again. So I had an idea. I am thinking of making t-shirts for the campaign, on the front they would have the "Arsenal, we love you" song lyrics on them and on the back it could have a cannon or something else goonerish and the words "Bring Back the Noise." If we got enough people to wear them to the games we think it might help everyone that wants it to be loud at the stadium to recognize each other. If this is something that would interest you, please let me know because we are trying to figure out how much interest there is. I can send you a preview of the shirt if you want, just message me on here, leave a comment, or email me at Arsenole@arsenole.com.
i think it’s a good idea so please let me know if interested!
